The New Products Introduction (NPI) team is responsible for the development, validation and commercial introduction for Cretex Medical CDT. The NPI team will work on developing solutions to bring complex medical device components, assemblies and devices to the market for our customers.
Position Summary
The NPI Plastics Process Technician will be responsible for the development and execution of all key technical molding operations including the establishment of process parameters, support of validation activities, and troubleshooting issues in an injection molding manufacturing facility.
Responsibilities
- Execute mold tooling and press setup changeovers to support the NPI team including hanging tools, material changeovers and press set ups
- Utilize scientific molding principles to establish capable processes for new and existing tooling
- Standardize and support set-up procedures and standard tools to continuously reduce set-up times
- Develop, model and document processes that demonstrate the achievement of functional, financial, and quality goals
- Participate in the development of validation protocols in cooperation with Quality, and Operations
- Execute comprehensive IQ and OQ protocols that clearly define, demonstrate, and document process windows sufficient to achieve Process Capabilities that meet or exceed Customer’s and/or Cretex Process Capability requirements on critical to quality features
- Support the Quality team while they execute comprehensive PQ protocols that clearly define, demonstrate, and document process windows sufficient to achieve Process Capabilities that meet or exceed Customer’s and/or Cretex Process Capability requirements on critical to quality features
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities for processes that are performing below Cretex quality standards
Qualifications
- 3+ years of injection molding experience with a strong preference towards Plastic Injection Molding including:
- development of molding processes with scientific molding principles
- familiarity with the relationships between materials, processing parameters and mold design
- experience in the use of analytics to develop robust molding processes (moldX, etc)
- well versed in the requirements of process validation (IQ, OQ, PQ)
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,)
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
