Process Engineering Manager Position Summary:
The Process Engineering Manager will lead and develop the engineering staff to deliver quality process development projects on time, meeting specifications, within the timeline and budget. This role will also participate in the sales and marketing of contract manufacturing and engineering services.
Responsibilities
Process Engineering Manager Responsibilities:
- Execute the NPI vision and strategy, translating roadmap objectives into effective cross-functional plans and on-time product launches
- Establish and lead a high-performing team of Engineers, providing mentorship and coaching to staff
Set and communicate employee goals, performance initiatives, and accountability measures aligned with Cretex Companies’ strategic objectives
Lead and manage engineering project assignments, monitoring progress and removing obstacles as needed
- Create and monitor KPIs specific to the engineering execution in the NPI arena
- Manage all customer and manufacturing projects through the project management system with the engineering staff
- Manage all customer projects through pre-production processes, design for manufacturability, and execution of all engineering tasks throughout the manufacturing process from concept through validation and commercialization (launch into production)
- Be a key contributor to the improvement of systems, tools, policy, and best practice approach for NPI engineering and related business processes
- Manage technical reviews and design for manufacturability with our customers and internal engineering departments
- Lead process improvement and Operational Excellence within the engineering department
- Professional and timely communication with other departments and customers
- Support and comply with the company Quality System, ISO, and medical device requirements
- Partner with other business segments: sales/marketing, customer service, engineering, quality, and finance
- Understand customer needs and the core business markets we serve
- Ensure business systems are implemented, maintained, and functioning properly
- Participate in required company meetings
- Maintain an organized work area (5S)
- Participate in the Operational Excellence Program
- Complete all other work duties as assigned
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
Qualifications
Process Engineering Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Science
- 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting
- CAD and related design computer software (SolidWorks, Creo, Unigraphics, etc.)
- Medical instrumentation product knowledge
- Manufacturing process knowledge
- Knowledge of Quality System: ISO9001, ISO13845
- Ability to manage internal and external relationships
- Project management experience and/or certifications
- Ability to solve problems and root cause analysis
- Ability to consistently achieve short and long-term business results
- Ability to follow through on commitments and holds team members accountable
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Ability to prioritize and multitask
Process Engineering Manager Preferred Requirements:
- People leadership experience of 3+ years in medical device engineering (process engineering leadership preferred)
- Experience in engineering support for international transfers
- Experience in leading complex and/or novel medical device assembly process work
- Experience leading technical customer-facing conversations, especially in the process design and validation space
- Continuing Education; including participation in local chapters, associations, and/or organizations
