Position summary
The Director of Technical Solutions will lead the Technical Solutions team in support of identifying new business opportunities in partnership with Business Development, crafting creative technical solution options for business opportunities, and generating compelling and timely quotations or proposals to win desired new business for Cretex Medical. This role will act as a collaborative leader in partnership with Business Development, NPD, NPI, and Operations to build a team, process, and approach that enables an aligned and effective means of turning new business opportunities into profitable products in production and a positive Customer experience.
Responsibilities
- Build and nurture an effective and collaborative Technical Solutions team that embraces Cretex’s values and enables a pathway to reach Cretex Medical’s growth and profitability targets
- Provide consistent presence and executive leadership to strengthen collaboration, team performance, and positive employee experiences
- Partner with Business Development in creating a positively differentiated Customer Experience where Cretex Medical is recognized as a critical partner in the customer value stream as an innovative, timely, and competitive strategic supplier
- Establish an efficient and effective methodology in collaboration with functional leader peers to create compelling and winning technical solutions for new business opportunity quotes / proposals
- Effectively lead the organization and customers through technical challenges and implement preventive measures to reduce future risk
- Engage with Business Development, Technology Development, NPD, and other partners to improve understanding of target markets for new business and contribute to technology roadmap priorities to support them
- Champion operational excellence principles by providing an environment where every employee is empowered and inspired to eliminate waste and improve the employee and customer experience
- Communicate business results, processes, strategies and outcomes with executives, stakeholders, employees, and customers in a timely and efficient manner
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive leadership in equivalent contract manufacturing environment
- 5+ years of experience in technical solutions/sales
- Demonstrated cross-functional leadership in a matrixed environment including manufacturing, supply chain, business development, quality, and NPD/NPI engineering
- Demonstrated ability to build customer relationships
- Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
- Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail
Desirable Criteria & Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters in Engineering
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems
- Experience in 510k and FDA submissions
- Executive Management training
