Additive (3D Printer) Manufacturing Technician Position Summary
This position is primarily responsible for working with Engineering to coordinate all production and post processing and problem solve where necessary, to include, but not limited to, assembly, laser marking/welding, post processing, process improvements, router / bill of material (B.O.M.) generation, and troubleshooting specific issues as needed.
Shift: 4th Shift Friday - Sunday 6:00 am - 6:00pm
Responsibilities
Additive (3D Printer) Manufacturing Technician Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot current processes.
- Work with engineering to improve processes that are not meeting expected efficiencies or that yield high scrap rates.
- Analyze processes to identify the root cause with engineering and production employees
- Work with engineering to develop a written procedure and/or fixtures that would improve the process.
- Some levels of inspection may be required to identify the root cause of assembly and/or process issues.
- Support engineering with new projects
- Develop processes, tooling and fixturing used to produce products
- Work with Engineers to develop and adjust routers / B.O.M.s.
- Establish and develop assembly processes and procedures for assembly.
- Develop assembly processes and fixtures with engineering (DPM's)
- Troubleshoot assembly issues, interferences and customer requirements.
- Work with quality coordinators to develop capable and certified processes to support and maintain a continuous flow of quality products to our customer.
- Support actions for implementing cost reduction projects with engineering and production employees.
- Work with all aspects of Additive team to improve, create, and document processes specific to the Additive manufacturing process.
- Complete all other work-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Additive (3D Printer) Manufacturing Technician Qualifications
- 3-5 years of Level 3 Machinist in manufacturing environment
- 3-5 years of work experience with methods of inspecting and metrology techniques
- Basic understanding of CAD software (ex. Solidworks, Creo, Unigraphics, etc.)
- Experience with BOMs, routers, and ERP systems
- Knowledge of cleaning, blasting, and other post machining operations
- Experience designing fixturing
- Knowledge of Additive manufacturing
- Knowledge of G and M code programming
